Love to cook, but hate shopping for groceries?
Imagine yourself out at the coffee shop with some friends, and you remember that you have nothing in the refrigerator for dinner, and no idea what you want to make.
You pull out GroceryZen, and browse through some pictures of your favorite meals to inspire your shopping. The "Lasagna" recipe sounds good. One tap later, all of its ingredients are on your list. With one more tap your regular weekly staples of "Milk", "Cheese", "Cereal", and 12 more items are on the list.
You drive to the store, and breeze through every aisle just once, with no backtracking, because the list has reordered itself. Or better yet, email it to your husband, so he can do the shopping.

- Add shopping lists for your favorite recipes. Add all the ingredients for Lasagna in a single tap. You wont forget the parmesan cheese like you did last week.
- Photos of recipes to inspire you to make something yummy.
- Share the list or your recipe shopping lists, to send your significant other to the store.
- The list orders itself by aisle when you go to the store. No backtracking.
- Add, change, and customize the order of the aisles to match the way you shop.
- Type a few letters to search for items if you cant remember whether you added "green onions" or "scallions".
- Add notes and links to recipes, so you can remember where you found them.

This is the first application that provides both a grocery list management and the notion of menus. We all have various menus that we prepare from time to time. What is more easy than pushing a button and add the ingredients of a given menu to the list!
All the other apps that I have bought/tried so far do not to this correctly.
One minor thing to be improved is the possibility to take quantities into account, in a better way (to varous quantities for the ingredients in the menu, and to be able to choose various units for each item).
A great App though.
Not only saves time, but money (and stress!) too. Having your grocery list with me all the time lets me add items whenever I think of them, saving that smack the forehead feeling when you arrive home from the store to remember the things you forgot. Sorting the items by aisle is brilliant, and I love the feeling of checking items off and actually having your grocery list shrink. Once theres a way to add recipes via the computer, that feature will also be killer.
Great app. Real timesaver with one button presses for quantities and one click recipe ingredients added.

I love this app! It is easy to you and great to overlook! I especially love that I have my recipe book with me in one app. I would be totally pumped if it would have a weekly "meal planner" as well, so I only have to use one app! It would also be nice if you could add prices to items!
I love how I can add the recipe into the app and with a single tap add all items to my shopping list. A quick check of current home inventory and I can cross items off with a tap. My only complaint is that if you have different units of measure (3 cups of milk in one recipe, 2 tbsp. in another), it wont combine them, and in one instance it reset all of my measurements in one recipe!! Not fun seeing as how I cant find the book that I got that recipe from! Fix this, and 5 stars for sure!!
Ive been using this app on a weekly basis for the last year and i absolutely love it!
It lacks export/import the master item list and import recipes but it is still great. Highly recommended!
Some bad moments
They fail to mention that there is only 3 built in recipes and only 3 photos to go with those recipes. I bought this app because I thought it would inspire me to make something new but it only has 3 recipes? What the heck? Basically, dont buy it for that reason. I use it to make my grocery list and in that sene it works well for me, it is simple. I wish you could have more than one grocery list though.
Ive tried almost all the shopping apps. This one is the best for us. We need to be able to make a list FAST. GroceryZen makes it really easy to have a "master list", so you can just change it a little bit each time you shop, making the whole process really streamlined. Plus the recipe feature is great! The only thing I could wish is a way to sync my copy of GroceryZen with my fiancees.
Ideally love this app. I love to have a list when I shop and this is perfect. You can costonize how ever you want.
I have been using this application for close to five months now. I love it! It has turned a dreaded task (meal planning and grocery list making) fun and enjoyable. Especially now that theyve added the option to input quantities in the recipes. If youre reading some of the other reviews take note that many were written before the new version came out so the comments are inapplicable to date. AND YES YOU CAN SORT BY ISLE. I absolutely love this app and recommend it to every meal planner/shopper I know. I never thought Id like meal planning but now its really fun and my family is eating better meals. . Also, website back up or entry would be so, so helpful. All in all, this is worth the price for sure! P.S. Ive tried several other shopping apps and this is the only one I use as it is far superior.
I just purchased this, Im looking forward to using it toward better menu planning. My first impression is that I wish that recipes could be organized with drag and drop. Not a big deal, just would like to see interaction with recipe and food sites more integral through links and bookmarking, maybe with a favorites page? The custom shopping list feature is great!
Love this app but missing one thing. Wish I could view all items by catergory.
