This is the first application that provides both a grocery list management and the notion of menus. We all have various menus that we prepare from time to time. What is more easy than pushing a button and add the ingredients of a given menu to the list! All the other apps that I have bought/tried so far do not to this correctly. One minor thing to be improved is the possibility to take quantities into account, in a better way (to varous quantities for the ingredients in the menu, and to be able to choose various units for each item). A great App though.

Not only saves time, but money (and stress!) too. Having your grocery list with me all the time lets me add items whenever I think of them, saving that smack the forehead feeling when you arrive home from the store to remember the things you forgot. Sorting the items by aisle is brilliant, and I love the feeling of checking items off and actually having your grocery list shrink. Once theres a way to add recipes via the computer, that feature will also be killer.

Great app. Real timesaver with one button presses for quantities and one click recipe ingredients added. Very intuitive and well thought out.

I love this app! It is easy to you and great to overlook! I especially love that I have my recipe book with me in one app. I would be totally pumped if it would have a weekly "meal planner" as well, so I only have to use one app! It would also be nice if you could add prices to items!

I love how I can add the recipe into the app and with a single tap add all items to my shopping list. A quick check of current home inventory and I can cross items off with a tap. My only complaint is that if you have different units of measure (3 cups of milk in one recipe, 2 tbsp. in another), it wont combine them, and in one instance it reset all of my measurements in one recipe!! Not fun seeing as how I cant find the book that I got that recipe from! Fix this, and 5 stars for sure!!

Ive been using this app on a weekly basis for the last year and i absolutely love it! It lacks export/import the master item list and import recipes but it is still great. Highly recommended!

They fail to mention that there is only 3 built in recipes and only 3 photos to go with those recipes. I bought this app because I thought it would inspire me to make something new but it only has 3 recipes? What the heck? Basically, dont buy it for that reason. I use it to make my grocery list and in that sene it works well for me, it is simple. I wish you could have more than one grocery list though.

My husband and I have been using this app for years now. Also have a few friends that swear by it too! I work from home, my husband doesnt. He is the grocery shopper. He compiles a list on his iphone, I check to see what we have in the house & compile one on my iPhone, the send it to him and they merge- a thing of beauty! We also use the recipe area for recipes we make frequently by adding them in manually.

Ive tried almost all the shopping apps. This one is the best for us. We need to be able to make a list FAST. GroceryZen makes it really easy to have a "master list", so you can just change it a little bit each time you shop, making the whole process really streamlined. Plus the recipe feature is great! The only thing I could wish is a way to sync my copy of GroceryZen with my fiancees.

Ideally love this app. I love to have a list when I shop and this is perfect. You can costonize how ever you want.

I have been using this application for close to five months now. I love it! It has turned a dreaded task (meal planning and grocery list making) fun and enjoyable. Especially now that theyve added the option to input quantities in the recipes. If youre reading some of the other reviews take note that many were written before the new version came out so the comments are inapplicable to date. AND YES YOU CAN SORT BY ISLE. I absolutely love this app and recommend it to every meal planner/shopper I know. I never thought Id like meal planning but now its really fun and my family is eating better meals. . Also, website back up or entry would be so, so helpful. All in all, this is worth the price for sure! P.S. Ive tried several other shopping apps and this is the only one I use as it is far superior.

I just purchased this, Im looking forward to using it toward better menu planning. My first impression is that I wish that recipes could be organized with drag and drop. Not a big deal, just would like to see interaction with recipe and food sites more integral through links and bookmarking, maybe with a favorites page? The custom shopping list feature is great!

Love this app but missing one thing. Wish I could view all items by catergory.

Adding items is very easy because they are all there and you just type the first two letters and pop it on your grocery list. Then when shopping you just tap the items you get and pop they go onto the gotten list. I like the recipe idea. However, could you make it possible to search and download recipes instead of needing to type them in? This would be nice. Thanks.

I thought it would be easier to get more. If there is a way, Im not sure how to do it.

Great app. I use it all the time. I never write a shopping list anymore.

I am thoroughly enjoying this app. I cook most every night and often find myself at work with no dinner planned. With this app I can choose to make a favorite recipe with the risk of forgetting that one crucial ingredient. Thanks to this app, I will be ordering out less ;)

Until this app gets more functionality than notes or can import recipes (it comes with 3) save your money. Id be more forgiving if this had an awesome feature such as being able to store what items you have at home and compare that to a recipe and tell you what to shop for, but it doesnt. It takes the entire list for a recipe. It also has an the odd feature that tells you when you need a vacation. If you have to use the item location to remember that milk is in dairy its personal day time.

This app is surprisingly versatile, given some imagination. A "recipe" is just a group of items (with associated quantities). So I have a "recipe" for "Trader Joes Run". Its just all the stuff I usually buy there. By selecting that one recipe, Ive got my shopping list! And if I dont need a particular thing, I just check it off as if I bought it! Super simple. I shopped with my iPod Touch in one hand, and the basket in the other. I BLEW through the store. Its a great one-handed app. Its GREAT that this app has lots of grocery items already built into it. You dont have to enter them all. When you are shopping, the items are sorted in Aisle order. Very handy. Re-ordering the Aisles is a bit tricky. You go to Items Edit (choose an item), then Aisle, then Edit. You can then order the Aisles any way you want! My wish: that I could have a different aisle-order for each store, and be able to tell the app what store Im in! Developers: please dont overcomplicate this app. Right now its in a sweet-spot. Just add my one feature, and itll be perfect! :-) Great app!
